Extremely stupid, complicated, hopeless, and cold

The letter V

Thursday, November 30, 2006

Currently watching: V For Vendetta (again)

"Remember, remember the 5th of November,
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot."

Here's an excerpt of his introduction dialog:

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

Have you ever seen so many words starting with the letter V all at one time, much less use it? I counted 48 of them. Not including his name that is. Tell me if I am wrong.

So is Hugo Weaving in V For Vendetta. I don't exactly keep a list of my favourite actors and actresses, but if I did, he would definitely have been in it. Watch the movie if you haven't already.

Have I ever mentioned what I would like to name my children, if I ever have children? No? Well then, let me tell you now. If I have boys, I will name them Daryl or/and Vincent. As for girls, I do not have any on my mind at the moment. But I have on my mind the Chinese names. I'd like to name her 梦瑶. Or 康桥. I know some people, especially those who can read Chinese, may think of the latter as weird. But I like it. I think it's a really nice name.

Anyway, some people (again those who can read Chinese) may find both names familiar. The former is a character's name from the Chinese novel 覆雨翻雲, while the latter is a character's name from the Chinese movie 玻璃之城.

And for those of you who can't read Chinese, the first name is composed of the word dream and the name of a kind of jade (mother-of-pearl). The second name literally means Cambridge. Now you know why I had said that some people may find it weird.

Freaky luck

Currently listening to: Nothing

It has been a rather lucky day for me at the casino yesterday. No I didn't win any money. I actually lost money. BUT... I kept finding money. That's right. I found money. The first time, I found 10 dollars. The second time, I found 8. From the same two machines in fact. That was more than enough to cover my loss.

I didn't keep the money though. I let my friend have it so that they can play with slot machines more. At one point my friend even won the mini jackpot. Mini as in 25 dollars. We were so unprepared that we didn't realise it until a good number of seconds later.

Anyway, I seriously need to stop spending money. Especially at pubs. Dang it, every single time, I spend at least 50 dollars on drinks. I've been putting in extra hours of work, and when I saw the amount of salary that I had earned in my bank account, I was really happy. Until I started subtracting from that amount the amount of money that I had spent on alcohol.

So much for wanting to spend freely back home...

Drunken SMS

Currently listening to: 紅模仿 by 周杰倫

Despite being in a supposedly high (or drunken) state, I managed to compose the text message below and send it to a friend at 6 in the morning:

It's freaking early i know, but i thought i'd better text now because i don't know what time i'll wake up later. Actually i'll wake up before six thirty for sure because i've got work, but it'll be too late then i think. Anyway, have a safe trip home. Take care of yourself. Good luck with your job. Don't text me back now because i want to sleep. Although i know you want to sleep too and i woke you up. Or maybe I didn't. Ah well... Bye bye tomtom...

Memory-less

Currently watching: La Femme Desperado

I was about to write something when something else caught my attention. Now, 25 minutes later, I have no idea what it was that I had wanted to write about.

Oh wait. I remember now. I was going to write about how sometimes my memory surprises me by remembering things I thought I would not have remembered. Now I'll have to write about how most of the time my memory fails me by forgetting things which I thought I would not have forgotten. Especially within the time frame of just a few minutes. Or, in the worst case scenario, seconds.

Dang it I keep forgetting what it was that I was going to write about besides my sad and pathetic memory.

"With a pat on my back and a wave of his hand, he walked away and never looked back. Why? Why did he go? I know that it isn't fair to say that he had left me behind; I am just a friend after all. And I know that he believed that I was in good hands. Still, I cannot help but wonder if he would have left anyway regardless of whether or not he believed that I was going to be safe. You'd think that since I didn't expect him to stay because of me, I should not be feeling anything about it, but you're wrong. As I watched him go, I felt sad. And I am still feeling sad now just thinking about it." - Anonymous

Still hanging

Sunday, November 12, 2006

Currently listening to: Nothing

If I need any proof that I put more force on my right knee than my left knee, the fact that my right knee hurts terribly and my left knee doesn't is it. I forgot to mention in the previous entry that although I didn't break my legs from too much dancing, I did overuse my knees, which would explain their current state. Wearing heels definitely didn't help. Oh, and a tiny accident at the beginning of the night left a bruise on my left foot. A tiny accident involving a heavy glass of alcohol.

Hanging

Currently listening to: Nothing

Believe it or not, I am typing this with a hangover. Despite the hangover-ness, I remember that I had the best clubbing experience ever. I know I've said that before, but after yesterday night, or this morning, to be more exact, I have come to the conclusion that there is always a better clubbing experience out there, waiting to be discovered, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

This time, I would have to say that it was part intentionally, part unintentionally, because it was my wish to get high, if not drunk. It usually isn't easy, due to the fact that I drive, and also due to the fact that I always manage to sober up quickly enough. With these things in mind, my flatmate and I decided early on that we were going to leave the car behind for the night. We also decided to forgo a proper dinner so that we didn't have to drink a lot to get up there. As in high.

It worked, although halfway through it almost failed. First, I had two shots and two mixers in a stretch. That was a good start. After some dancing, I had another mixer and another shot. This was followed by more dancing, before my friends and I decided to move on to another pub. Unfortunately, the birthday girl (we were actually at a birthday party) was a little too high to move, so we had to stay behind a little longer to make sure that she sobers up. That period of waiting didn't manage to sober her up a lot, but it did me. I took another shot before we left the place, and at the other pub, I had two shots, two mixers, and a beer. That was enough to last me the night (or morning). At a few points, I seriously thought that I was going to break my legs from too much dancing. But every time I managed to push myself to continue, simply because it was too much fun to stop. Even when it came down to only five of us, it was still a lot of fun.

When we finally decided that it was time to go home, the sun has risen, and there we were, the three of us (the other two went off another way), walking with our arms linked together because none of us could walk in a straight line, rambling and babbling nonsense all the way back to our houses. That was fun too, although it was laced with pain for me and one other because of our heels. Nevertheless, we made it home in one piece. All three of us girls, high and possibly drunk from a night (or morning) of drinking and dancing.

By the way, exams were officially over yesterday, which would explain why we went all out in full force. Why everybody went all out in full force. That little fact only added to the fun of the whole night.

And as usual, I will be reflecting on yesterday night (or this morning) for a while. Lots of things to ponder upon. Some of it unnecessary, which made up a part of our rambles and babbles as we were walking home. I hope that they do not remember it.

He is SO sweet. I still think that younger men with older women are a little weird, but he is SO sweet. As long as he is taller, I guess I can overlook the age part.

I did cry

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

Currently watching: Ally McBeal

It's not that I cry for the weirdest reasons and things. It's just that I cry for reasons and things which somehow many people think of as not sad enough. I watched this video clip which was a tribute to the September 11th incident in New York, and the amount of tears which came to my eyes couldn't even compare to the amount which came to my eyes when I was watching this death and mourning scene on Ally McBeal.

I didn't cry

Monday, November 06, 2006

Currently listening to: Nothing

There are times when I think that I cry easily. However, when movies or video clips which many people claimed to have cried buckets of tears for do not elicit the same response from me, that doesn't seem to be the case. I therefore conclude that I cry for the weirdest reasons. And things.

I wonder if that is good or bad.

I loved the way he said her name in a few scenes. It was kind of like a little bit more than above a whisper, if you know what I mean.

Oh, and I like the name too.

Currently listening to: The same thing. I'm just too lazy to copy and paste this time.

So how did I satisfy my cravings? I watched it away until 10 in the morning and slept it away until 5 in the evening. A waste of a beautiful day really, because I woke up to a clear blue sky and a warm bright sun. Sigh...

Cravings...

Currently listening to: Nothing

Yesterday, I craved to go out and have a drink. Right now, I am craving to go out and have a hearty breakfast. Cravings are not necessarily a bad thing. As long as you know how to satisfy them. The right way of course. However, is there ever a right way to satisfy a craving for a person?

Yesterday, when I craved to go out and have a drink, I craved to ask that person. Now, as I am craving to go out and have a hearty breakfast, I am also craving to ask that same person. It is ridiculous.

Just a feeling? I don't think so.

I only just realised that it is drizzling outside. Usually I would've noticed it earlier, if not immediately, thanks to the sound of the rain hitting the roof. Maybe this time the rain is so fine that it didn't matter.

I had wanted to go out for a walk in town. It had been so sunny earlier. Then I saw the crowd on the streets, and it was enough to put me off. I just can't stand crowds. I actually can, but I try to avoid them whenever I could.

Currently watching: The video of Malam Malaysia 2006

I didn't write for the past two days because I have nothing to write about. Life has been so easy since I finished my final exams last Saturday. All I have been doing was wake up for extra work, watch drama/movie, cook, eat, work, watch more dramas/movies, and sleep. I couldn't really go out because of the extra work, and also because I wanted to save money, and going out would only make me spend money. I really hope that I will have enough money to buy an external hard disk AND an external DVD writer when I am back in Malaysia. I suspect that they will come in handy next year.

Anyway, moving on to a totally unrelated matter, in a short span of six months, Cecilia Cheung got back together with Nicholas Tse, married him, and is now apparently pregnant with his child. As much as I'd like to see them last forever, I am counting down to the day they announce their separation. Such is the world of celebrity marriages.

Update: Apparently she's not pregnant. We'll see.
