I've been itching to go out for a couple of weeks now. Each time though, I managed to convince myself that staying in is good. I spend less money, and I stay healthy. To a certain degree anyway.
I've been watching Ally McBeal again, and I get irritated every now and then by her constant whining. I also get entertained every now and then by John Cage's hilariously superb court tactics and Ling's hilariously impossible demands.
I've been talking to my girlfriends, and I was a little saddened by the fact that Christianity do not encourage marriage between couples who are not both Christians. Personally, I feel that it puts a limit on the already limited choices that I have. I'm not saying that I have choices in the first place, but still. It's sad.
I've been...

I am officially a nocturnal being. Haha. Actually, it's not funny. So yeah. Sigh.
I watched Monster House, and it's not a very nice animated movie. The silliness of the characters borders on annoying. I know that not all children are annoying, but these ones are.
And the Chinese movie Ah Sou, it's interesting, but I think the movie would've been better without Karena Lam. Her portrayal of a grieved and crazed wife was really convincing, but her portrayal of a tough lady triad boss was not.

It sounds like one of those background music used in horror movies filmed in the jungle. Really.
Anyway, this whole week has been a not-so-good week, due in no small part to the messing up of my sleeping schedule. I seriously can't take not sleeping for more than a day anymore. I still can handle getting very little sleep, but no sleep at all? NOT AT ALL.
And my knee is acting up, so much so that I have to grab onto something to stand up if I'm on the floor to lessen the pain. It's not, like, really painful, but of course you'd want to avoid feeling it whenever you can. I blame the weather, which is turning colder by the minute as we speak.
See? I AM getting old...

I am getting old. I can no longer stay up all night, and then stay up all day. It's good because it forces me to get some sleep, but it's also not good because it forces me to abandon everything that I have to do during the day to get some sleep. Sigh.
Anyway, I am mourning alongside the world over the rampage shooting which happened at the Virgina Tech University in the US on Monday. The professor who bravely blocked the door so that his students can escape is a hero. May he rest in peace, and may his family, despite their loss, stand tall and proud.

I am the Mistress of Last-Minute Work. Hear me roar!
Anyway, I watched a couple of movies a couple of nights back. The Long Weekend features a lot of sexual jokes, most of which I'm still not used to. My friends and I call it a "popping babies" movie. If you like American Pie, you'll probably like this one. Otherwise, stay away at all costs.
Yours, Mine And Ours, on the other hand, was fun. I've watched "funner" movies, of course, but yeah, this one was alright. Cute and smart children all around. Seriously though, can you imagine having 18 children? It doesn't matter that some of them are not biologically related to you. They are still your children. And there are 18 of them. Imagine that.

So, I took a look at Friday's entry. It was posted at 6.13 in the morning. I wondered to myself, briefly, what I was doing up so early in the morning. Then, it hit me. I was working on this proposal to prepare myself for the group meeting that I was going to have at 1 in the afternoon. It had been a wet and windy day. And cold too. After the meeting, I was confined indoors, despite the urge to go into town. Dang the weather. Anyway, I freeloaded at a friend's place for dinner, wasted some more time at home, watched some more movies, then went to sleep.
Woke up on Saturday afternoon, wasted even more time, went to this karaoke place with some friends, went to a cocktail bar afterwards, went home for supper, hung out for a bit, then went to sleep.
Woke up for lunch on Sunday, did a bit of window shopping, attempted to use for the very first time a self-service car wash machine with a friend, decided to wash the car again at another friend's place with the friend, went to work, went to the same car wash place to vacuum the interior of the car, went home, took a shower, had dinner, wasted a bit more time, worked on the proposal again, cleaned up the study table, then blogged.
Now, I'm going to sleep.

The weather has been totally horrible for the past couple of days. Cold, wet, and windy. I really hope that it gets better soon.
Anyway, I watched The Illusionist, and it's just as cool as The Prestige. Interestingly, both movies talk about magicians, although in The Illusionist, the tricks are more elaborate, so much so that it is more appropriate to call them illusions rather than magic tricks. Hence the name of the movie. Both movies have been highly entertaining, full of twists and plots, right until the very end.
I also watched The Wedding Date. Not a bad romantic comedy, but I've seen better. Then again, that is my own personal opinion; I've got friends who swooned at every sentence uttered by Dermot Mulroney, the male lead. I didn't feel much of anything, but trust me when I say that I am a total romantic at heart.
And yes, I have been watching a lot of movies lately. That is because I am currently on a one-week Easter break, although I am supposed to be working on 5 assignments, 3 of which are due next week, and the other 2, the week after.

I am not cut out to be a counsellor of any sort. More often than not, I can't find anything to say to anything, and I think that's exactly the opposite of what a counsellor is supposed to to.

It's a cool movie. A little creepy towards the end, but it's still cool. And when all the pieces of the puzzle finally come together and things finally make sense, it's a good feeling.

The Covenant is not too bad of a movie. At the very least, it's got eye candy for girls like me. Haha. And Friends With Money, it's not an arthouse movie, but it's almost that. It's interesting, but not something I'd watch a second time.
And it's funny, but everytime I feel like writing a lot, I change my mind once I start writing. I wonder why this is so.

I just came back from Christchurch. I drove up with 4 other friends yesterday afternoon, and drove back down with 2. How come, you ask? Well, the purpose of this whole trip is to send 2 friends away; one by plane and the other by train. It's a separation, so there's been a bit of crying going around, although I managed to keep it all in. It was not going to be helpful if I had joined in.
Anyway, my remaining 2 friends and I went on a shopping spree afterwards, and boy, did I spend A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY or what. Sigh. It's SO NOT GOOD, but oh well...
I hope that my 2 remaining friends and the other 2 friends will adjust to the separation fairly quickly, if not very. It's hard, because we've been together for the past 3 years, and even though we all have friends who have been with us for more than 3 years, it's different, because bonds which are formed when you are away from home are much stronger. That's not to say that our bonds with our other friends are not strong, but you know what I mean, don't you?
Anyway, thank you to mon-chan for correcting me. Really appreciate it. Hehe.

So, I finally got through another week. Was dead tired, and still is, I suppose. Just not as dead tired as I had been yesterday. I missed one paper's lectures and the lab, and it's not funny because I can't afford to lag behind in classes. Not anymore anyway. In fact, I'm actually supposed to get some things prepared now for a group meeting tomorrow.

I am way past the days of writing my sorrows away. I think it is a good thing, regardless of whether it is because I am no longer in sorrow or because I have gotten used to the sorrow. Hmm.
I finally watched the latest episode of CSI. And, I just pulled my first all-nighter of the year.
