Extremely stupid, complicated, hopeless, and cold

Currently listening to: 祝君好 by 張智霖

I watched Iron Man on Tuesday night, and I think it was alright. It had quite a bit of funny moments, and a bit of action as well.

On another note altogether, I really, REALLY think that I am extremely stupid, complicated, and hopeless.

Currently listening to: 相思风雨中 by 张学友 and汤宝如

I am currently trying to learn how to sing this song, so that during the next karaoke session, I can sing it when asked to. That is how much free time I have on my hands, when I am not at work. It can be both pleasant and not-so-pleasant, depending on whether I have things to do to keep myself entertained.

Anyway, I watched Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull this past weekend. It wasn't a bad movie, but it could be because I have never watched the previous Indiana Jones movies. I found it quite entertaining, albeit goosebump-and-hair-raising at certain scenes.

I also watched The Water Horse: Legend Of The Deep, and I found it alright. It's not sleep-inducing, so that's always a good sign. Plus it's got its cute and touching moments. Another not-bad sign.

I'm off to learn more new songs now. It sounds kinda silly, but I guess I should feel flattered that I am being asked to learn new songs so that I would be able to sing them. At least they're all nice songs.

Currently listening to: 天黑黑 by 孫燕姿

Last week, I watched Untraceable at the cinema with friends. It didn't have a lot of "shock" scenes, but it did have plenty of graphic torture scenes. And it left an unpleasant feeling within me. I mean, would you visit a webpage and watch the torture of a human being (or an animal), knowing that doing so would only hasten their death? I know it would probably be hard to resist the temptation of "taking a look", but still. And some of them actually enjoyed watching it. In the movie anyway.

Currently listening to: 我不配 by 周杰倫

You should never leave redeeming freebies to the very last minute. Because if you do, you'll get stuck with the bad choices.

Just like how I was stuck with Mama's Boy at the cinema a while ago. It was, fortunately for me, still bearable (unlike The Heartbreak Kid, what a nightmare), but still. I could've used the free ticket on a better movie. What a waste.

Currently listening to: Nothing

I just finished watching Playboy Cops. Wow. I must admit, I had really low expectations for this movie. But I guess that's the trick. Always have low expectations so that you won't be disappointed if things turn out bad, but pleasantly surprised if things turn out fine. Based on this movie, I have decided that Linda Chung (of TVB fame) is a pretty good actress, despite looking completely the opposite, Shawn Yue is a pretty good actor, and Chen Kun (aka Aloys Chen) is also a pretty good actor.

I was supposed to go to the cinema tonight to watch a movie for free, but because I got hung up on this movie, I guess I'll have to go tomorrow night instead.

Currently listening to: Nothing

I knew something was going to happen, but when it happened it still took me by surprise anyway. And what really took me by surprise is the fact that it was the season finale! I was like, what! But it's only been 17 episodes!

So now I have one less thing to download. One less thing to watch. One less thing to look forward to. One less thing to do. Dang it.

Petrol prices are sky-high at the moment, but I'm going for a drive. I'm on the verge of another relapse.

Currently listening to: Gollum's Song from Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers

I watched Fatal Move some time last week, and I didn't really like it as much as I liked SPL.

SPL had more fist fights, which meant more stunning choreography to marvel at. Despite the brutalities. Fatal Move, on the other hand, had more... blood? Well, it seemed like it anyway, because one of the main guys, he used a sword, and everytime he slashed something, blood went flying in all directions. One reason why I didn't like the movie that much. The fake CGI blood. No doubt all the blood was supposed to make the movie more brutal and gory, but they looked so fake, the brutality and gore was actually brought one notch, if not a few.

Currently listening to: Private Number by 911

See the picture on the left? I didn't know that it is soybean. Until now. And the only reason I know it now is because 2 weeks ago, my girlfriends and I went to this Japanese bar for food. We were there for quite a bit, and were the last customers to leave the place. Not including the chef's own friends, that is.

Anyway, the chef was cooking up some extra stuff for his friends, obviously on the house, and I guess he thought that it should only be appropriate that he cooked some for us too. So he did, and what he cooked up for us was this plate of soybeans, sprinkled with salt.

My girlfriends and I had never eaten soybeans before. Not in their original form anyway. We initially thought that they were snowpeas, and so, Girlfriend A picked one up and put it into her mouth. She started chewing, and commented that it was very hard to do so. I was like, "They look raw. I don't like raw vegetables."

The next thing we know, the chef exclaimed from behind us, his eyes wide in shock, his finger pointing at the soybeans, "Nono! Don't eat the skin! Just eat the beans!"

I promptly burst out laughing, as did Girlfriend A, but it was probably a little bit more difficult for her, since the soybean was still in her mouth. It took us a while to contain ourselves, a little bit longer for Girlfriend A since it was embarassing and funny for her at the same time. I actually asked the chef if she was going to die from eating the skin. I was only joking, of course. But who knows these things right? I mean, the chef would know, but yeah.

If you need living proof that you wouldn't die from eating soybean skin, Girlfriend A is one. Because, like, right now, I am discussing about clothes with her on MSN Messenger.

Currently listening to: 蒲公英的约定 by 周杰倫

My friends and I went for the Capping Show yesterday night. It was pretty alright, despite the fact that this year's show had a change of venue due to really stupid decisions made by the higher ups of the university. Seriously.

Anyway, the Sextet were ok, but I will not say that they are better this year than last, nor will I say that they are worse. I will, however, say that I expected more from them. So yeah. The Sexytet, on the other hand, I didn't expect a whole lot, and as such was rather pleasantly surprised to find that they are much better this year than last; I found them much more provocative too.

The Selwyn Ballet, I expected more too. But I should've known better, because the new venue has very limited space compared to the old one, so they couldn't really move as freely as in the past. Entertaining nonetheless, but I didn't have the overwhelming feeling of wanting to give them a solo standing ovation as in previous years.

After the Capping Show, my girlfriend and I went to yet another karaoke session at a friend's place. This time, however, it was not so much of a karaoke session, because not long after we had arrived, my girlfriend found a pack of cards and started asking everyone to play the game "Chor Tai Di". It was quite funny to watch, especially when the person playing was supposed to sing at the same time. Talk about a guy's inability to multitask.

We were there for about 2 hours, before we left for Monkey Bar. I had a pretty good time, thanks to my lovely girlfriend, and no less thanks of course to the amount of alcohol I had consumed earlier (I must stress on the fact that, contrary to what I have written so far, I am not an alcoholic). I didn't drink a lot; I drank on an empty stomach.

I am now waiting to go to lunch, because my girlfriend has my car, and it is raining outside. And I don't really want to wake her up because I know that she is exhausted from the past couple of days, and going out yesterday night didn't help for sure. I feel bad for obligating her to go. Bad Shi Leng.

Anyway, earlier in the afternoon, I spent $330 on a pair of suede boots from Mi Piachi. That really is a freaking lot of money to spend at one go, and is currently 2nd on my list of most expensive self-bought belongings, after my iPod. It dethroned the current 3rd item on the list, a pair of leather boots (which are already starting to peel) which I had bought from Overland before Christmas last year for $190.

I LOVE the boots though. I've always loved boots. Especially the almost-knee-length ones. Really love them. The thing with these boots, however, is that they don't fit me, because my legs (not my feet) are too small. There will always be space big enough to put my whole hand in. So I can never find the right one. Well, I did, but that pair has long been worn out, and is now gathering dust in a corner of my room, so yeah. No more since then. Until now. Muaha. I am happy. And broke. But still happy. Muaha.

Currently listening to: 青花瓷 by 周杰倫

I am addicted to this song at the moment. I think, in general, I quite like songs with traditional Chinese elements in them. And this song happens to be one of those.

Anyway. The last post. It was done at about 2 o'clock in the morning, in a fit of a REALLY bad mood, no doubt boosted by more or less just the right amount of alcohol swirling around in my system. I said just the right amount, because in the midst of it all, for a brief second, I wondered if I would be able to get away with it.

Let's just say that I'm glad both Blogger and Facebook do not implement the "No F word" rule.

I watched Enchanted (finally) on Sunday, and I have to say, it's a really cheesy movie. So cheesy. It's got its cute and funny moments for sure, but still cheesy. Cheeeeeeeeesy.

Blue and white porcelain

Currently listening to: 青花瓷 by 周杰倫

There is this one line from the song above, which I find very meaningful. I really admire the lyricist Vincent Fang for his ability to give meaning to words just by putting them together creatively.

天青色等煙雨 而我在等妳

天青色 is a very specific colour of the porcelain that can ONLY be created/set with great difficulty. The temperature of the kiln has to be perfect and the last day of the glazing HAS TO BE on a rainy day. Only then can it achieve that specific colour.

煙雨天 = Rainy Day

Which is why 天青色 and 煙雨 are inseparable, relating it to the 'me' and 'you' in the song. Which means that I can ONLY wait for you, and no one else. Nobody else will complete me as you do.

The above information was taken from JayChou.net
