What do you tell a friend (a young hot-blooded male) who got into a fight because his friend (presumably female) complained to him about someone dancing too close to her liking, he asked the someone to "fuck off", the someone pushed him, and he pushed the someone back?

Do you tell him that he was wrong to get into a fight, regardless of the reason? Do you tell him that he should have asked the someone to go away in a more polite manner? Do you tell him that he should have just taken the friend and moved themselves away from the someone?

If I was any closer to him (in terms of relationship), I would have reprimanded him about it in an instant. Fighting is bad. Regardless of the reason. Is what I think anyway.
